DIY Chicken Tractors is dedicated to a different kind of chicken coop known as the chicken tractor. For those that are familiar with chicken tractors, please forgive the brief explanation. We love the idea of a chicken driving a tractor in a cartoon and it is cute marketing done by several chicken tractor websites but it is doesn’t quite explain the purpose of a chicken tractor or even what it is. A chicken tractor is basically a chicken coop on wheels. Why? Well, chickens like to hunt and peck for bugs and worms. A chicken tractor has a built in chicken run which allows them the opportunity to roam freely inside of a secure location. The chicken tractor allows the owner to move the location of the “hunting and pecking” easily by rolling the tractor around the yard. In theory, many chicken coops could be modified into a chicken tractor but that does take some consideration and effort. DIY Chicken Tractors has a very unique looking chicken tractor design that is meant to roll front and back so it is great for a fence line. We estimate this tractor will hold about six chickens. It comes with a hen house, a roost, and a nest. There are multiple built in access points and it is very unique in design. Take a look at the pictures.
